I don’t want to be famous and poor – Chichi Neblett
I'm actually a very sweet and loving person"
Liberian/Nollywood actress and influencer Chichi Neblett recently added another feather to her cap, being honoured with the prestigious LEAGS Award for her outstanding contributions to the Liberian entertainment industry.
While her professional life is flourishing, Neblett opened up about her personal life, revealing she’s currently in a relationship but not ready to walk down the aisle.
The actress, who will be turning 42 soon, expressed her focus on building a secure future for herself and her teenage son.
“I’m talking to someone presenting, but marriage isn’t on the cards right now. Maybe I won’t even get married because I am old. I’d be 42 in a few weeks, on August 22. My priority now is financial stability and a better life for my son,” she said in a recent interview.
Beyond her acting and business endeavours, the single mum of one shared a surprising side to her personality.
“I’m actually a very sweet and loving person. But I’ve learned to be cautious because my openness has sometimes led to disrespect. Anyone that gets the opportunity to know me well, will find out the true me.
People shouldn’t also judge me based on my social media posts; I’m a different person offline,” she asserted.
As for her acting career, Neblett admitted to facing challenges. She said: “I don’t get many acting jobs anymore. The few offers I get often come with unrealistic terms, like working for free or just fuel money. I’ve reached a point where I value my worth and won’t settle for less. Business is my focus now. I don’t want to be famous and poor.”
