DSS denies Kanu access to legal team
The Department of State Services, DSS, has stopped Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, from meeting his legal team.
This was disclosed by Kanu’s Lead Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor via a post on X.
Ejimakor said that DSS’s latest action was in continued disobedience to a court ruling ordering Kanu access to his legal team.
Ejimakor wrote: “Today, in a blatant & continuing disobedience of extant court order, the DSS barred the Legal Team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from conducting a visitation with him.
“For this reason, all suspended legal actions to enforce compliance will proceed apace and with much vigour.”
In October, the DSS had denied Kanu access to his lawyers.
Kanu has been locked up by the DSS since he was rearrested and subjected to extraordinary rendition in 2021.
