Why I took my private affairs off social media – Annjay
Ebonyi State-born singer and fashion entrepreneur Annjay Chioma has shed light on her recent social media hiatus, revealing a desire for a more private life.
In a recent interview, the talented artist explained, “I only slowed down on social media but was very busy offline with something very important. Life shouldn’t be all about social media alone where many supposed private things are made publicly.
The more you grow in life, the more you realize that some things are not just worth it at all.”
Chioma, who recently celebrated her birthday, emphasized her commitment to giving back to society, particularly to the less privileged. She revealed, “My birthday is always celebrated with less privileged people on the streets and my followers online where I support as many as I can in my little way. I have been doing this for years. I give out JAMB forms, then money online and offline for Waec and many more, but as usual, it’s not meant for public consumption. ‘Help silently’ is my motto, when the time right comes, I will make it public.”
Despite her focus on business ventures, the singer assured her fans that she has a new single in the works. “I will be dropping another single soon,” she confirmed.
Addressing the concerning trend of young girls nowadays resorting to prostitution to maintain the bogus lifestyle, Chioma offered words of caution. “Many people do a lot of unpleasant things to feed and help their family members. While some do it because they want to belong that’s not the way. I won’t judge them at all because I’m not in their shoes right now, and I won’t say it is the right thing to do for a living, but May God help everyone struggling out there.”
