Nigerians Criticize Wife of Egungun of Lagos for Defending Husband’s Leaked Video

Nigerians across social media have criticized popular content creator Kuye Adegoke, known as Egungun of Lagos, following the leak of a private video.

In the clip circulating online, Egungun is seen brushing his teeth during a video call with an unidentified woman while wearing shorts and inadvertently exposing himself to her.

Prior to the video’s release, his wife, Pashotah, addressed an alleged blackmail attempt involving her husband’s private videos.

She took to Instagram on Sunday to defend her husband, stating, “Hi guys, someone is blackmailing me with my husband’s videos. My name is Pashotah, and y’all know who my husband is. I am aware that many people have wanted to bring both of us down, including men and women.

“I usually choose to ignore such issues, but I won’t ignore this one because the blackmailer approached me instead of my husband. His intention was to shame me, as he stated in his messages. What this blackmailer doesn’t understand is that our relationship is not a recent development; it has been built over the past 6 to 8 years when we had nothing. Our relationship is founded on trust, understanding, loyalty, and commitment. Therefore, nothing can break us apart—not even this.”

However, this situation has ignited widespread reactions online, with many questioning Egungun’s previous image as a family-oriented man.

Some netizens believe this incident undermines his wife’s reputation for defending their marriage. Many see Egungun’s actions as a betrayal of his wife’s trust, while others suggest that the video may have been misinterpreted or is an old clip meant to tarnish his image.
