NWFLMD 04: Edo Queens storm Lagos for Dannaz Ladies, target three points
As Commission boss backs team for glory
Group A table toppers and reigning Champions of the NWFL 2023/24 season, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin landed Lagos Monday for the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL week four fixtures where they will take on Dannaz Ladies FC of Lagos State.
Edo Queens have played three matches, won two and drew one. Wednesday's clash in Lagos against Dannaz Ladies will be their second away game.
Since the game of football is about scoring goals, the Ancient City based ladies are set to play the game of their lives to ensure they score as many goals as possible to secure the three maximum points and maintain the driver's seat.
As the pride of women football in Nigeria, the Moses Aduku girls are in high spirits for this encounter after being forced to a thrilling 1-1 draw at home by Remo Stars Ladies last week.
The technical crew, the captain and all members of the Benin City based side are confident and optimistic of an away victory in Lagos.
Edo Queens currently stand top on the log with 7 points from three games, one home win, one away win and one home draw.
Kickoff time for this all important game is 3 pm and venue is the popular Onikan Stadium Lagos.
After the Lagos experience, Edo Queens will come back home to play host to Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia, in match day 05 of the NWFL premiership.
Meanwhile, Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Hon. Desmond Enabulele Amadin, has charged the team to maintain the spirit of winning, adding that the Government of Senator Monday Okpebholo is solidly behind them .
