Lagos Commissioner of Police directs replacement of all officers in Ajah division

After shooting incidents that led to death of Bolanle Raheem

 

 

 

The last has surely not been heard of the Christmas day killing of female lawyer Bolanle Raheem by a police officer as the commissioner of police in Lagos, has ordered the replacement of all officers attached to Ajiwe station in Ajah area of the state.

Disclosing this today (Monday), spokesman of the Lagos Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin said CP Alabi also ordered that all shanties located around the infamous Ajah police division be removed.

According to a tweet by Hundeyin, “the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc has already effected the transfer out of ALL personnel of the division, with replacement from other divisions. This would fully materialize in a couple of days”.

These latest measures are coming days after an assistant superintendent of police, Drambi Vandi, attached to the Ajiwe police station, was involved in a shooting incident that led to the death of Bolanle Raheem, a female lawyer.

The fatal shooting incident happened at the Ajah axis of Lagos.

The tragic incident generated widespread criticism, while the Lagos state government quickly filed a one-count charge of unlawful killing against Vandi.
