No married man is funding my lifestyle — Mercy Eke

Reality TV star Mercy Eke has addressed some of the biggest rumours surrounding her personal life, saying many of the stories people believe about her are simply false.

Speaking during an interview with Toke Makinwa on Toke Moments, the BBNaija winner admitted that life after the show has not been as easy as many assume.

Reflecting on her journey since leaving the Big Brother house, Mercy said, “Coming out of the house now, I’ve been pushing myself; it’s not been easy, especially when people have perceptions about you.”

When Toke asked about the biggest misconception people have about her, Mercy didn’t hold back.

“The one that everybody knows is, oh, someone is funding my lifestyle, that I’m dating a married man. Apart from being pregnant every week,” she said before both burst into laughter.

Toke jokingly interrupted to ask, “Are you pregnant now?” prompting Mercy to laugh while gesturing at her stomach.

Setting the record straight, Mercy revealed she has actually been in a committed relationship for years.

“I have been dating someone for four years. I’m still, mm-hmm, in that relationship,” she disclosed.

The reality star also shared that marriage has been discussed, confirming she can marry her partner. However, she revealed the delay isn’t coming from her.

“He keeps saying I’m not ready, I’m not ready. I don’t know what I’m doing that, looks like I’m not ready,” Mercy said.

She added that having a child is now a major priority, saying, “Right now, I want a baby. I have prayed, I have fasted over it.”
