President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing the killings as a senseless act of violence and directing security agencies to hunt down those responsible.

The President’s reaction followed the overnight assault on the Southern Kaduna community, where at least 30 people, including eight children, were killed after suspected terrorists invaded the village, opened fire on residents and set homes ablaze. The attack also left several others injured and displaced many families.

Tinubu Orders Comprehensive Manhunt

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended his condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones and assured residents that the attackers would be brought to justice.

The President directed the military, police and other security agencies to intensify ongoing operations in the area, identify those behind the assault and ensure they face the full weight of the law.

He also instructed security operatives to strengthen surveillance and sustain efforts aimed at preventing further attacks on vulnerable communities.

President Calls for Justice and Lasting Peace

Tinubu described the attack as unacceptable and reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the country.

While sympathising with the Kaduna State Government and the bereaved families, he urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible intelligence that could assist ongoing investigations and security operations.

The President said the Federal Government would continue supporting efforts to restore peace in communities affected by violent attacks.

Kaduna Government Launches Security Response

The Kaduna State Government also condemned the killings, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and destruction of property in Naridon Village.

Governor Uba Sani directed security agencies to intensify operations in the affected area, apprehend those responsible and ensure they are prosecuted.

The state government further instructed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) to provide immediate relief materials and humanitarian assistance to families affected by the attack.

Deadly Assault Leaves Community in Mourning

Residents said the attackers stormed Naridon Village at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, shooting indiscriminately before setting houses and businesses on fire.

Community leaders confirmed that at least 30 people, including eight children, were killed, while four others sustained critical injuries and are receiving medical treatment.

The attack has renewed concerns over the worsening security situation in parts of Southern Kaduna, where several communities have suffered repeated assaults by armed groups in recent years.

Security agencies are continuing investigations as authorities intensify efforts to identify and arrest those responsible for the latest attack.
