What transpired between Burna Boy’s girlfriend and me when they visited Ghana — Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has claimed that his friendship with Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy broke down after people allegedly spread false rumours that he had an affair with Burna Boy’s girlfriend during the singer’s visit to Ghana.

Speaking during a recent podcast session with TheHonestBunch, Shatta Wale said Burna Boy personally called him before travelling to Ghana and asked him to pick him up from the airport, a request he said he had never received from any Nigerian artist.

According to Shatta Wale, he welcomed Burna Boy warmly, provided him with accommodation and cars, and ensured he was comfortable throughout his stay.

“I was treating Burna Boy in Ghana like a king. I was showing him the roads of Ghana… I gave him a house and cars. He wasn’t wasting money in Ghana,” he said.

Shatta Wale alleged that after he parted ways with some members of his team, they began calling influential people in his life with false accusations, attempting to ruin his relationships.

“They told Burna Boy that I was f¥cking his girl he brought to Ghana. He just bought it,” he claimed. He added that despite repeatedly trying to reach Burna Boy after the Nigerian star’s career took off, his calls and messages went unanswered.

Shatta Wale said he even contacted Burna Boy’s mother, whom he described as “like my mother,” because of the close bond they once shared, and she just gave him excuses of why the artist wasn’t answering his calls.

“I didn’t know they’d told them, and he’s decided not to talk to me,” he said. “I just thank God that God has put Burna somewhere, but it hurts me that he didn’t listen to me to explain to him that this was what the boys were doing.”
