According to the command, the operation led to the arrest of three suspected cultists linked to the illegal possession and manufacture of firearms. Officers recovered a locally fabricated double-barrel gun from one of the suspects, who reportedly confessed to owning the weapon and identified the individual who allegedly supplied it. Investigators later tracked down the alleged supplier and uncovered what police described as an illegal gun-making network.

Further investigations resulted in the arrest of another suspect believed to be involved in the production of the firearm. A search of the premises led to the recovery of equipment and materials allegedly used in fabricating locally made weapons. Police said efforts are continuing to apprehend an additional suspect, identified as a welder who allegedly assisted in the manufacturing process and is currently on the run.

In a separate operation, officers also arrested another suspect during a raid that led to the recovery of substances suspected to be hard drugs. The police said the operation was based on credible intelligence and formed part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and disrupt illegal drug activities within the state.

Commissioner of Police Baba Mohammed Azare commended the officers for their professionalism and resilience, describing the successful operations as another significant step in the command’s fight against violent crime. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to identifying and dismantling criminal networks involved in cultism, illegal firearms and drug trafficking.

The command also urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious activities, assuring the public that intelligence-driven operations would continue to enhance safety and keep criminal elements off the streets.
