Popular celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has defended her frequent public appearances with her husband, Femi Atere, declaring that “his life is mine and my life is his” after an online critic questioned why the couple attend events together.
The criticism arose after Veekee and Femi Atere were seen together at the wedding of TikTok creator Peller. A Snapchat user named Laura responded to their appearance, asking: “Does this man have a life of his own? Must he follow you everywhere? Did you see your friend’s husband there? You’ve turned him into a handbag.”
Responding to the comment, Veekee clarified that she views her marriage as a partnership in which she and her husband are inseparable.
The fashion entrepreneur also dismissed the criticism, emphasising that her husband’s presence at events with her should not be a matter for concern.
Veekee and Atere have become one of Nigeria’s most discussed celebrity couples, frequently sharing moments from their personal and professional lives on social media.
