This is the second school shooting in Thailand this year – despite restrictions on ownership people can acquire guns here with relative ease, writes our South East Asia correspondent
A 31-year-old teacher, who asked not to be named, tells the BBC he heard gunshots from a building at the other end of the school compound, where the seventh to ninth graders study.
“Then I saw pupils run out, screaming. I asked them what was going on. They said ‘there’s a shooting!’,” he says.
“One of teachers killed, a Thai-language teacher, was my friend. She was my age. We went to this school together as students. Then we both became teachers at this school,” he adds.
