NDLEA Intercepts ₦3.9bn Worth of Illicit Drugs in Lagos, Arrests Influencer

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted illicit drugs worth an estimated ₦3.9 billion in Lagos and arrested several suspects, including a social media influencer, in separate operations. The seizures formed part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks operating across the state.

NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered large quantities of various controlled substances during the operations. The agency said the arrests and seizures followed intelligence-led investigations targeting individuals suspected of involvement in the distribution and trafficking of illicit drugs.

Among those arrested was a social media influencer, whose identity was not immediately disclosed in the report. The suspect is expected to assist investigators as the agency works to establish links to other members of the alleged drug network.

The NDLEA said investigations into the cases are ongoing, while suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the law after the completion of investigations. The agency also reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and preventing illicit substances from reaching communities.
