Suspected Cultists Kill Security Guard in Lagos Estate
Police launch investigation after gunmen on motorcycle shoot guard at Sangotedo

A security guard identified only as Stanley has been killed in a suspected cult-related attack at Royale Estate in the Sangotedo area of Lagos State. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday night when two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, killing the guard on duty.
A source told PUNCH that the attackers stormed the estate between 10pm and 11pm and shot Stanley several times before reportedly shooting him in the head. The assailants were said to have fired into the air before fleeing the area.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident, but said the circumstances were still under investigation. Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said the victim was shot by two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle, adding that no suspect had been arrested as of the time of the report.
The incident has renewed concerns over cult-related violence and attacks on security personnel in parts of Lagos. It comes weeks after another security guard, identified as Godwin, was allegedly killed by suspected cultists in the Abule Ijesha area of Yaba, with three other people reportedly injured in that attack.
