Unknown gunmen have abducted a senior driver with Dangote Cement Company, Ibese, Usman Umar, popularly known as “Baba Olowo,” in Ajibawo Village near Ijako-Orile, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. Umar was reportedly attacked around midnight on Wednesday while returning home from work. 

Sources said the victim had just arrived at his residence and alighted from his motorcycle when three men reportedly attacked him. The assailants allegedly dragged him into a nearby bush while firing shots into the air to scare residents and prevent them from intervening.

The kidnappers reportedly did not use a vehicle during the operation but took Umar away on foot through a bush path. Security operatives have since commenced efforts to locate the victim and apprehend those responsible for the abduction.

As of the time of the report, Umar’s whereabouts remained unknown, while there was no confirmed information about any ransom demand or communication from the abductors. Efforts to obtain further details from the Ogun State Police Command were unsuccessful, although a rescue operation was reportedly underway.
