Legendary musician Tina Turner dies at 83
Legendary female singer, Tina Turner, renowned for big hits like ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’, ‘Private Dancer’ and ‘The Best,’ has died at the age of 83.
In a statement released by her spokesperson, Bernard Doherty, US-born Tina Turner passed on peacefully on Wednesday in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” the statement noted.
Tina, born Anna Mae Bullock, was said to have battled an illness before she passed on.
It was learnt that a private funeral ceremony will be held for family members and close friends.
Tina Tuner was born on November 26 in 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee, USA and went on to attain wide popularity in the late 1960s as a member of the band Ike & Turner Revue. She would later leave the band to pursue fame as a solo singer.
