Police Arrest 45-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Attempted Murder and Robbery in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command says it has arrested a 45-year-old suspect in connection with an alleged attempted murder and robbery incident, while recovering a motorcycle believed to have been stolen.

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, identified as Bello Abubakar, over allegations of attempted murder and robbery. According to reports, the suspect is from Ganwo village in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The arrest followed a police investigation into an incident reported in the state.

Police said the alleged crime occurred around Tungar Dariya Bush near Makera, where the suspect was accused of attacking a victim during a robbery. The incident was subsequently reported to security authorities, leading to an investigation and efforts to identify and locate the suspect.

Following the investigation, police operatives reportedly arrested Abubakar and recovered a motorcycle believed to have been stolen during the alleged robbery. The recovery of the motorcycle is expected to form part of the evidence being examined as investigators continue their work on the case.

The Kebbi State Police Command said the case remains under investigation. Authorities are expected to complete their inquiries before taking further legal action in accordance with Nigerian law. As with all criminal allegations, the suspect remains accused and has not been convicted by a court.

The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by security agencies to respond to violent crime and robbery across communities in Kebbi State. Police authorities have continued to encourage residents to report suspicious activities and cooperate with security agencies to support investigations and improve public safety.
