The suspects were apprehended after surveillance and coordinated raids targeting locations believed to be linked to illegal drug activities.

According to the agency, officers recovered various quantities of suspected illicit drugs from the suspects during the operations. The NDLEA said preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested individuals were allegedly involved in the retail distribution of narcotics within their communities. The command added that further investigations are underway to identify other members of the suspected network and uncover the full extent of their activities.

The anti-drug agency reiterated its determination to sustain intelligence-driven operations across Ondo State, stressing that drug trafficking remains a major contributor to violent crimes and other social vices. It urged residents to support law enforcement by providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of drug traffickers and the dismantling of criminal networks.

NDLEA officials also warned individuals involved in the cultivation, sale or distribution of prohibited substances to abandon the illegal trade or face the consequences of the law. They maintained that the agency would continue to strengthen collaboration with communities and other security agencies to curb drug-related offences and improve public safety across the state.

The latest arrests add to a series of anti-narcotics operations being carried out nationwide as the NDLEA intensifies efforts to reduce drug abuse and dismantle trafficking syndicates. The agency assured the public that all suspects found culpable after investigations would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
