VeryDarkMan Defends Involvement in Okoye Family Dispute, Says He Won’t Remain Silent

Popular Nigerian content creator and human right activist, VeryDarkMan has responded to those criticising him for commenting on the ongoing Okoye family controversy, questioning why he should stay silent when everyone else is discussing the issue.
Replying to calls for him to stop speaking about it, VDM stated he would continue to speak and verify claims regardless of what others say.
He compared the situation to the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death, accusing his critics of repeating the same pattern they showed during that case.
According to VDM, his insistence that a DNA test be conducted helped keep Mohbad’s case alive. He claimed the issue caused serious problems for his family, saying his mother, father, and sisters were insulted during the controversy.
He also claimed Naira Marley was nearly “k+lled” by public opinion because of the one-sided narrative surrounding the case, insisting that he helped prevent that outcome.
VDM said Naira Marley was ultimately released because there was no evidence against him and because he was not even in the country at the time.
He questioned why people expect him to refrain from participating in matters everyone else is discussing, insisting that statements made by celebrities should not automatically be accepted as facts.
He then told his critics: “VDM is God. You are a common person. I’m God. Shut up.”
VDM also offered ₦50 million for proof relating to what he is requesting in the case.
He further addressed claims involving Phyno, saying Peter told him: “VDM, Phyno is my witness. Jude scammed Phyno.”
VDM said Peter claimed Phyno would be a key witness in the case. However, after hearing the allegation, he said he approached Phyno, who denied it.
“Phyno is going to be a key witness in this case. I felt sympathy for him. I went to ask Phyno, and Phyno said, ‘No, that’s not true,’” VDM recounted.
