Prominent Jamaican-American podcaster, DJ Akademiks has weighed in on the dating rumors linking Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B and Nigerian Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, saying he does not believe the pair are romantically involved because of the footballer’s reported earnings.
Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, is an American rapper and songwriter, while Maduka Okoye is the Nigerian national team’s first-choice goalkeeper who plays club football in Europe.
Speaking during a livestream, Akademiks argued that Cardi B has become accustomed to dating wealthy men and claimed someone earning around $900,000 annually would not meet her standards.
According to him, “Offset done tricked on her and spoiled her too much. Even Stefon Diggs stepped it up. You can’t come after that making a million a year.”
He added that he believes Cardi B and Okoye were only having a friendly conversation and dismissed speculation that they are in a relationship.
