Kurdish rebel group ‘likely’ behind deadly attack on Turkish aerospace firm – minister

Five people are dead and 22 injured after an attack at a Turkish aerospace company near Ankara, Turkey’s interior minister says.

The interior minister, Ali Yerlikaya, calls it “a terrorist attack”, and says it is “most likely related to the actions” of the PKK Kurdish rebel group

Earlier he said two suspects were “neutralised”

CCTV footage from the site at Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) shows a man firing a gun inside the building

TAI is a state-owned arms and aerospace technology firm located in Kahramankazan, about 17 miles (28km) north-west of Ankara.

BBC verified a second piece of footage from the attacks, by comparing it to what we know about the area. There are also other videos which show a similar area at a different time.

It shows two people carrying large guns. There are bodies in the background.

The two armed individuals then approach a turnstile which is at the edge of the Turkish Aerospace Industries complex.

It’s likely this is footage of an early stage of the attack, but BBC Verify hasn’t been able to confirm the exact time that this video was filmed.
