Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that he earns a monthly salary of N503,000.
He disclosed this in a video recorded at a recent event in Asaba, the state capital.
The Delta State governor said a Permanent Secretary in the state earns N900,000 monthly, while the Head of Service earns N1 million.
His remarks indicate that the monthly salary of a Permanent Secretary is almost twice that of the governor.
“You will also recall that we were one of the first states that implemented the minimum wage.
“Today, a Permanent Secretary’s salary is more than the governor’s. Your salary is N900,000; my salary is N503,000. Head of Service is N1 million,” he said.
TMY Newspaper reports that Delta State is among the highest recipients of allocations from the Federation Account, including funds under the 13 per cent derivation principle for oil-producing states.
