PSI Nigeria Launches Menstrual Health Campaign with Yemi Alade, JJC Skillz, Others

The campaign highlights the challenges faced by menstruating women and girls in Nigeria

Population Services International (PSI) Nigeria has partnered with prominent Nigerian celebrities to launch a new campaign aimed at raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene.
The “Time of the Month” campaign features popular figures from the music and film industries, including Yemi Alade, JJC Skillz, Aishat Lawal, and Mike Ezuruonye.
The campaign highlights the challenges faced by menstruating women and girls in Nigeria, such as stigma, lack of access to affordable menstrual products, and limited education on menstrual health. Through the MH-NoW Program, PSI Nigeria is working to address these issues by promoting local production of menstrual hygiene products, providing comprehensive education, and advocating for policy changes.
“Our goal is to break the silence surrounding menstruation and ensure that all women and girls have the knowledge and resources they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity,” said PSI Nigeria representative.
The campaign features a short film that tells the stories of individuals who have been affected by menstrual stigma or lack of access to menstrual products. The celebrities involved in the campaign have expressed their support for the cause and emphasized the importance of addressing menstrual health issues.
“It’s time to break the taboos surrounding menstruation and create a society where all women and girls can feel confident and empowered during their periods,” said Yemi Alade.
The “Time of the Month” campaign is expected to reach a wide audience and spark important conversations about menstrual health in Nigeria.
