Congratulations are in order for celebrity couple Nelly and Ashanti, who are expecting their second child together!
According to Page Six, the musicians secretly tied the knot last December.
Ashanti’s pregnancy comes just months after she and Nelly welcomed their son, Kareem Kenkaide Hayne, on July 18.
During an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Ashanti expressed her overwhelming emotions at seeing her newborn’s face for the first time. “I cried; it was just so emotional and spiritual at the same time. Having a vision of this moment for so long, it was such an electrifying feeling,” she shared.
Nelly, 50, and Ashanti, 44, first met at a Grammy Awards press conference in 2003. They have collaborated on several projects over the years, including their 2008 track “Body on Me” and a new song, “This Lil’ Game We Play,” slated for release in 2024.
The couple dated for a decade before splitting in 2013, but they publicly reunited in Las Vegas at a boxing match in April 2023. In September of the same year, Nelly confirmed that he was dating Ashanti again, admitting that their rekindled romance “surprised” them.
