The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has cautioned applicants to ignore a fake recruitment update circulating on social media, describing it as false and misleading. The board said the notice, which claims that a portal for checking recruitment status will open on Monday, August 3, did not originate from the agency.

In a statement shared through its official X account, the board advised applicants to disregard the viral message and warned members of the public against falling victim to fraudsters who exploit recruitment exercises. It stressed that any genuine information regarding the ongoing recruitment process would only be released through its verified communication channels.

The CDCFIB urged candidates to remain patient as preparations for the next phase of the recruitment exercise continue. It also encouraged applicants to verify every update before taking action, noting that false recruitment information could expose unsuspecting individuals to scams and financial loss.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent recruitment process and advised applicants to ignore unofficial websites, social media posts and messages requesting payments or personal information. It reiterated that all legitimate announcements would come directly from the board at the appropriate time.
