Yobe Police Arrest Four Suspects, Recover Stolen Goat and Building Materials

Separate operations target theft, assault and criminal conspiracy across the state

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested four suspects in separate operations linked to theft, assault and criminal conspiracy, recovering a stolen goat and building materials believed to have been taken from different locations. The command said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to tackle criminal activities and strengthen security across the state.

Police spokesperson SP Dungus Abdulkarim said investigations began after victims reported the incidents, prompting officers to launch intelligence-led operations that led to the arrests. During the raids, operatives recovered the stolen goat as well as building materials suspected to have been unlawfully removed from construction sites. The recovered items have since been secured as exhibits while efforts continue to establish full ownership.

According to the command, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were involved in separate criminal cases and are currently assisting detectives with further inquiries. Police added that investigations remain ongoing to determine whether additional individuals were connected to the offences and to recover any remaining stolen property.

The Commissioner of Police reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to continue providing timely and credible information that could help prevent crime. He assured the public that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law after the conclusion of investigations.
