Why I Can’t Keep a Man — Businesswoman Diiadem

Businesswoman and social media influencer, Adeola Adeyemi better known as Diiadem has opened up about her struggles with maintaining friendships and relationships as she becomes increasingly successful, revealing that she has become more intentional about protecting her peace.
Speaking on the Afropolitan Podcast, Diadem said she has tried to keep friends but experienced a major friendship breakup that affected her and made her more sensitive about the people she allows around her.
“I’ve always said this thing, that two things I feel like I can’t keep are friends and man,” she said.
She stressed that anyone who wants to be her friend must be genuinely able to support her success without jealousy.
“If you want to be my friend, if you cannot take this shine and this grace that is upon me, there’s no need. Don’t even bother to come close, because if you come close and have a spirit of jealousy, it will show,” she stated.
Diadem explained that she already has many responsibilities as a single parent and leader, adding that she does not want friends who bring additional stress to her life.
“It’s already a lot of work being a single parent, you know, doing all of this by myself. It’s already a lot of work being a leader,” she said.
She added that she is quick to walk away when she notices “any iota of stress” and prefers to protect her peace rather than force a friendship to work.
However, when she values someone deeply, Diadem said she would explain her reasons for leaving. “I love you so much with all of my heart, but this is not heading anywhere. This is not helping me in any way. And I would love to take my L right now,” she said.
She added that if she does not consider someone a friend, she lets the person go and moves on.
