Nigerian pair Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala have been adjudged by CAF as the best men and women players of the year for 2023.
It was a landmark double feat for Nigeria football at the awards ceremony on Monday night in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Napoli forward Osimhen became the first Nigeria star since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999 to scoop this prestigious individual award, while Oshoala extended her record to six such awards.
Tthe Super Falcons also won the Team of the Year (Women) and Chiamaka Nnadozie scooped the Goalkeeper of the Year in the Women category.
Oshoala and Super Falcons teammate Michelle Alozie made the Team of the Year (Women) and Osimhen was named on the Team of the Year (Men).
