Buhari’s former minister Sadiya Farouq arrives EFCC office
The immediate past Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq, is at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Farouq disclosed her arrival at the anti-graft office through her X handle.
The former minister under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, is accused of laundering over N37,170,855,753.44.
The money was said to have been laundered through a contractor, James Okwete.
Investigating the allegation, EFCC had summoned Farouq for clarification.
But she initially failed to honour the invitation due to health challenges.
However, she wrote: “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.”
