North Royalton City Employee Killed in Suspected Homicide as BCI Assists Police Investigation
Crime Scene Investigation Underway at City Service Center

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio — A city employee in North Royalton was killed in what authorities believe is a suspected homicide, prompting a large police response and the involvement of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).
Investigators were seen at the North Royalton Service Center, located at 1545 Royalton Road, on Friday afternoon as officials worked to process the scene. Authorities had not immediately released details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
BCI Joins Local Police Investigation
Police officers were observed moving in and out of the service center throughout the investigation. A BCI crime scene technician was also seen leaving the building carrying a large brown paper evidence bag, which was later placed into the back of a BCI vehicle.
Steve Irwin, spokesperson for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, confirmed that the North Royalton Police Department requested assistance from the BCI in processing the crime scene.
Service Center Plays Key Role in City Operations
The North Royalton Service Center serves as the headquarters for several municipal departments, including the city’s service department, building division and other administrative offices.
The facility oversees essential public works functions such as road maintenance, snow removal and recycling services. It also provides residents and contractors with access to building permits and inspection scheduling.
Authorities have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
