Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has edged closer to his fellow compatriot and Al Fayha winger, Henry Onyekuru as regards the Nigerian footballer with the highest Instagram followers.
Osimhen has hit a significant milestone on the social media platform after hitting 4 million followers on Instagram which is now 500,000 lesser than those of Onyekuru.
Research indicates that between January and July 2024, the 25-year-old gained over 700,000 followers on Instagram because before the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), he had 3.3 million followers.
By May, his following had increased to 3.8 million. Despite experiencing a brief dip in May where he lost over 100,000 followers, Osimhen quickly regained and surpassed his previous numbers, reaching 4 million followers by July 2024.
This tally places him just behind Onyekuru who is currently the most followed Nigerian footballer on Instagram with 4.5 million followers.
