I’ve dumped PDP, joining APC soon – Daniel Bwala
Former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar 2023 election campaign, Daniel Bwala, says he las left the People Democratic Party (PDP) and will be joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) soon.
According to The Cable, Bwala said this in a chat with Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday.
“I am not a member of the PDP. Yes, I have left the PDP,” he said.
“I am very close [to joining APC],” the lawyer was quoted as saying.
Bwala was the spokesperson for the PDP presidential campaign organisation during the 2023 election. He was one of President Bola Tinubu’s fiercest critics during the election run-in.
But he switched allegiance after Tinubu became the president in mid-2023, after his job with the PDP ended.
In early January, Bwala paid a visit to Tinubu at the State House in Abuja and less than a month later, he met with the president again in France.
During one of his visits, Bwala said Tinubu demonstrated a passion “to lead Nigeria out of the woods”.
Bwala confirmed his commitment to back Tinubu’s administration to succeed.
He added that if supporting Tinubu would take me to APC, “so be it”.
