Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Bayern Munich star Noussair Mazraoui as an Erik ten Hag reunion beckons.
Foot Mercato earlier reported that Mazraoui is set to swap Bayern for United for approximately £21 million ($27m), with the 26-year-old eager to join the Premier League side. The report adds United are confident they can move on fellow right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with a transfer only possible if the England man leaves Old Trafford.
Now Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna claims that Bayern have agreed to release the full-back and he will now undergo a medical in Manchester on Tuesday before putting pen to paper on a deal that will be valid until 2029. This would see him link up with his former Ajax manager Ten Hag, who brought Anthony and Lisandro Martinez from the Dutch giants to United earlier in his tenure.
Mazraoui, who was born in Netherlands, began his career at Ajax before signing for Bayern in 2022. He has since made 55 appearances for the German side but his time at the Bundesliga outfit appears to be drawing to a close.
Manager Erik ten Hag wants the player to complete the formalities soon so that he can be included in the squad for their first competitive game of the season in the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10.
