Police Arrest Two Suspected Drug Dealers, Recover 132 Tramadol Sachets

Suspects held after police intercept Toyota Hiace bus during stop-and-search operation in Asaba

The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadolduring a stop-and-search operation in Asaba. The suspects were apprehended along Nnebisi Road on Aug. 13, 2026, after police personnel attached to Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA.

According to the command, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the suspected controlled substance and the arrest of Hillary Osondu, 54, and Abubakar Bello, 54. The operation was part of ongoing police efforts to tackle the distribution and movement of illicit drugs across the state.

 

The police said the two suspects are currently in custody as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the recovered Tramadol and their alleged involvement in drug dealing. Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafedisclosed the arrests in a statement made available to journalists in Warri on Friday.

 

The command said “the suspects are in custody, while investigation is ongoing.” Authorities are expected to determine the next legal steps after completing their investigation into the case.
