More than 20 injured as vehicle rams into soldiers in Lagos

No fewer than 20 soldiers have been left seriously wonder after a driver rammed his vehicle into them during a drill at the Myoung barracks in the Yaba area of Lagos.

The accident occurred just outside the barracks as the column of soldiers took part in an early morning drill on Friday.

The car, which was reportedly moving at full pelt, had three occupants.

Soldiers at the barracks said that the driver was probably inebriated.

One of the men in the car fled the scene after the incident, while the remaining two were beaten to a pulp.

A battered Toyota car was seen parked inside the barracks as groups of soldiers discussed the incident in hushed tones.

It is understood that at least 20 soldiers are currently undergoing medical treatment at the military hospital in the barracks.

Some soldiers were seen limping outside the military hospital as a crowd of uniformed personnel formed.
