Flying Eagles confront Uganda for FIFA Under 20 World Cup ticket
The Flying Eagles will Thursday take on Uganda for a place at this year’s U20 World Cup in Indonesia after CAF decided they finished ahead of Congo in Group B.
Both Congo and Uganda finished on the same five points each, goals difference of +1 and also played out a 2-2 draw when both teams clashed.
However, CAF used the fair play rule to decide this stalemate as Congo picked up a red card in one of the group games.
“We will face the winners of Group B Uganda Thursday for a place in the semifinals after CAF used the fair play rule,” Flying Eagles administrator Aliyu Ibrahim said.
He added that, “Congo finished second of the group by the virtue of the red card they got in the competition.”
Kick-off time at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia Stadium on Thursday is 6 pm in Nigeria.
