Google Sets September 15 New York Event for Its New Googlebook Platform

Google has confirmed that it will hold an in-person event in New York City on September 15, 2026, dedicated to its upcoming Googlebook laptop platform. The event will give journalists a detailed look at the new computing platform and the hardware being developed by Google’s manufacturing partners.

The Googlebook initiative represents Google’s attempt to create a new category of laptops built around a closer combination of Android and ChromeOS technologies. Google has previously previewed the concept as a platform designed with Gemini AI at its core, potentially allowing users to benefit from tighter connections between Android phones, apps and laptop experiences.
