If you can’t afford your flight ticket, don’t dream of marriage — Prophetess Eunice warns

Prophetess Eunice has advised young women to prioritise financial independence before getting married, warning that marriage can make it difficult for women to navigate life on their own.

Speaking during a recent sermon, the prophetess said women who lack jobs or the ability to take care of some of their personal needs should reconsider marriage.

She said, “I say this, and I will say this with my full chest: If you’re a young lady and you have not—and you cannot pay for your flight tickets, don’t marry.”

According to her, young women without jobs should also not rush into marriage or abandon their dreams.
“If you’re a young lady, you cannot pay for your flight tickets, don’t do what? Don’t dream. If you’re a young lady, you don’t have a job, don’t what? Don’t dream. It is not test-by-moonlight,” she stated.

Eunice further advised women who are struggling financially to focus on building themselves before marriage.
“If you don’t have anything you are doing whatsoever, don’t marry,” she added.

She explained that while a man may be able to rebuild his life after marriage, women may face greater difficulties, particularly when they find themselves in marriages that are unhealthy or unsuitable for them.
“A man can navigate his life, but a woman cannot navigate inside marriage. It’s hard. It’s very, very hard for you to navigate,” she said.

The prophetess noted that some women remain in difficult marriages because they are already thinking about how to leave and start their lives all over again.
“It’s not as if they cannot come out. They are thinking of how to come out and begin to start all over again, navigate through life,” she explained.

She also noted that modern marriages differ from those of previous generations, adding, “And the marriages we see these days are not the same marriage of my father those days.”
She concluded by saying, “Every man you see wants a helper.”
