DSS Arrests Three Suspected Kidnappers, Rescues Victim in Nasarawa
Security operatives destroy suspected kidnappers’ hideout and recover cash, five mobile phones
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested three suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate in Nasarawa State and rescued a victim during an intelligence-led operation. One suspect was arrested at a suspected hideout in Atabula, Duduguru community, while two others were apprehended at a hotel in Lafia, the state capital.
The operation also led to the destruction of a makeshift camp allegedly used by the suspects. Security operatives reportedly recovered cash, five mobile phones and other items believed to be connected to the activities of the suspected criminal group.
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the DSS and other security agencies for the operation, describing the arrests and rescue as a demonstration of their commitment to tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state. He assured the agencies of his administration’s continued support.
Governor Sule also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities. He stressed that cooperation between communities and security agencies remains essential to maintaining peace and security across Nasarawa State.
