My Biggest Fear In Life – Davido

Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about one of his biggest fears, saying the pressure of fame and the emotional impact of losing relevance inspired him to think about creating a support centre for people who were once highly successful and popular.

Speaking during a recent interview, the singer said he would love to establish a centre that provides therapy and emotional support for individuals who have experienced fame and success but later struggle with life after the spotlight.

“If there was one thing I could build, I would build a school not a school, like a center for people that have been popular and very successful before. A center for them to have therapy.”

Davido said it can be difficult for successful people to cope with public criticism, even after years of accomplishments.

“It’s crazy, being on top of the world and the next moment you’re lost. Even with football. You win all these awards, you win the Champions League, you win the World Cup, and people still feel like it’s not enough.”

Using Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo as an example, Davido said he was saddened by the criticism Ronaldo received after the FIFA World Cup despite his achievements.

“Look at Ronaldo. He’s my friend by the way, my very good friend. When he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and they were abusing him so much. After everything he has done.”

The award-winning singer added that the fear of losing everything he has worked hard to build keeps him grounded and constantly seeking God’s guidance.

“That’s my greatest fear. I worked too hard for me to come and spoil it for something. So I always ask God, ‘God, just tell me the right time to pack it up. But I think that’s the only thing I’m scared of.”
