Nigerian Army arrests two soldiers for providing unauthorised security guests at Peller and Jarvis’s wedding

The Nigerian Army has detained two soldiers for allegedly providing unauthorised security at the wedding ceremony of social media personalities Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and Jarvis, that held in Lekki over the weekend.

 

The soldiers, identified as Privates Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Ukpai Onyinyechi, are attached to the Nigerian Army Medical Services and Hospital in Obalende, Lagos.

Their arrest was confirmed by the spokesperson for the 81 Division, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, who disclosed that both personnel were taken into custody on Tuesday,August 4.

 

The soldiers were reportedly arrested after videos from the wedding circulated widely on social media, showing them dressed in military uniform while performing security duties and escorting guests.

 

One of the viral clips allegedly captured a soldier escorting a popular TikToker through the crowded venue, triggering widespread reactions online.

 

The incident sparked public criticism, with many Nigerians questioning whether serving military personnel were authorised to provide security at a private celebrity event.
