Benue police say all abducted passengers have now been rescued after coordinated security operation

The Benue State Police Command has rescued the 13 remaining passengers who were abducted along the Otukpo–Adoka Road while travelling from Enugu to Otukpo. The passengers were reportedly kidnapped by armed assailants during an attack on the route.
The rescue operation was carried out following security efforts to locate the victims and apprehend the attackers. Police operatives reportedly worked with other security personnel and local vigilantes to track the kidnappers and secure the release of the passengers.
The latest rescue brings the number of passengers freed in connection with the incident to all those who were abducted, according to the police. Authorities are continuing efforts to identify and arrest those responsible for the attack.
The development comes amid persistent security concerns along major roads in Benue and other parts of the country, where travellers have increasingly faced the threat of kidnapping. The police have urged residents and motorists to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with useful information to help prevent further attacks.
