Portable Challenges Terry G to a Celebrity Boxing Match

Controversial street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has challenged fellow musician Terry G to a celebrity boxing match, asserting that the bout would help revive the veteran entertainer’s public profile.

Portable made the declaration during an appearance on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds, where he discussed his increasing involvement in celebrity boxing and his plans ahead of his scheduled rematch with actor Charles Okocha on 31 July.

The singer dismissed suggestions of competing against other opponents, insisting that Terry G is the only celebrity he wishes to face in the ring.

“I want to fight Terry G. If I fight Terry G, people will remember him,” Portable said.

He also claimed to have played a significant role in popularising celebrity boxing in Nigeria, arguing that he had risked his own reputation to grow the sport.

“I have tried enough for Nigeria. I used my own career to build Nigerian boxing. I make between ₦50 million and ₦100 million a day. If na you born me, you go dey happy,” he boasted.

Portable is preparing to face Charles Okocha for a second time after defeating the actor in their first boxing encounter in December 2023. The upcoming fight follows his defeat to skit maker Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing contest held in May 2026.

Terry G is yet to respond to Portable’s challenge publicly.
