A suspected cult member has died while allegedly attempting to escape arrest in Kajola, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State. The incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. on Sunday after a resident reportedly alerted the police that suspected cult members were threatening his life.

Following the complaint, police operatives were deployed to the area and reportedly established that the complainant had been ambushed by suspected members of the group. Officers arrested one of the suspects, identified as Oluwatimileyin Daniel, while other alleged members fled when the police arrived.

One of the fleeing suspects, identified only as Damola, reportedly collapsed while trying to escape. He was taken to a hospital for medical attention but later died. The circumstances surrounding his death have not been fully established.

The incident reportedly caused tension in the community, prompting security personnel to increase their presence in the area. Police investigations are ongoing as authorities work to determine the identities and whereabouts of other suspected members of the group.
