Troops have rescued 14 kidnapped victims during a military operation in Madaci Forest, Katsina State, following intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists in the area. The operation was carried out on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, according to the report. 

The troops reportedly moved into the forest after receiving information about the presence of the terrorists. The operation enabled the security personnel to locate and rescue the abducted victims, who were subsequently taken to safety.

The rescue forms part of ongoing military operations aimed at disrupting terrorist and kidnapping activities in Katsina and other parts of the North-West. Security forces have continued to intensify intelligence-led operations to locate criminal groups and protect residents.
