Alibaba, MC Shakara storm Tree Money Yard for King Enakpodia’s birthday, homecoming party
It was a weekend of fun, party, excitement and merriment as the likes of ace comedian Alibaba and MC Shakara attended the birthday and homecoming party of rising iNigerian musician Omodogho Enakpodia, popularly known as King Enakpodia held at the Tree Money Yard Empire Media.
It is a common practice among human beings to honour the dead and deserving living ones. When the living is honoured, it bears credence to influence and value such an individual wields.
Such was the colourful gathering graced by close associates, friends, acquaintances and guests, who were treated to lots of fun, traditional music, dance, drink and so much to eat at the birthday commemoration combined with homecoming for Nigerian artiste,
The gathering presented King Enakpodia the opportunity to again count his blessings, as availed by the occasion, which also coincides with his return from a successful tour of London, United Kingdom.
For those who graced the star-studded party, there was plenty to eat, drink and chew on as music flowed freely and new acquantainces were made and cemented at the homecoming event, which also served to cement the growing reputation of Tree Money Yard Empire as the one-stop place for gltz evnts and shows.
King Enakpodia, who is proudly Urhobo from Delta State, is renowned for his Afrosound/Afrobeat genre of music. His influential status in the Nigerian music industry drew the likes of ace comedian, Alibaba, MC Shakara and other major players in the industry to his sold out show at Tree Money Yard (TMY) Empire Media at Chevron, in Lekki, Lagos State.
King Enakpodia, leader of the Urhobo Diamond Voice, is the foremost ambassador of Urhobo, one of major languages and tribes in the oil-rich Delta and the geo-political zone. The singer promotes the tribe and language, with both identities forming the core of his lyrics and melodious music.
Omodogho Enakpodia does not only speak to the struggles and societal issues bedevilling Urhobo youths and in Nigeria generally, he plays his part by ensuring that his mother tongue does not become history.
King Enakpodia proudly identifies as an Urhobo native in dressing and speaking, and above all, promotes the language in his music. The high-life singer mostly passes across the crux of his music in his indigenous language.
In ‘My Home To The World’; an album he released last year, which had 11 tracks, his key messages were communicated in Urhobo. The activist, who serenades with his sonorous voice and popular among his kinsmen in Nigeria and around the world, addressed various challenges confronting the country, and urged the government to tackle unemployment among the youths, among other issues, in the album.
In 2022, he raised a concern on social media about a purported plan by the Delta State government to expunge Urhobo language from curriculum of studies in the College of Education in Delta.
King Enakpodia’s first single of 2023, ‘UK’, produced by Eljoe turn up, is the ultimate afrocentric jam. The track is impressively gaining traction with astounding streaming numbers on Audiomack. The 2minutes 59 seconds song is fast becoming a favourite among his global community of fans on his YouTube channel.
