Alvarez picks retirement date from boxing
Mexican boxer and current champion,
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, already has his retirement year in his plans
The Mexican has not had difficulties talking about the end of his career in the ring, so he has pointed to 2029 as the year to say goodbye.
The boxer's age would be 38 years old and therefore he would say goodbye to boxing, the sport that has made him a Mexican and world legend
This was revealed by Alvarez himself in an interview with The Ring Magazine, a boxing magazine.
For 2025, Canelo is already planning his classic two fights and this will be the case until 2029. For the moment, the pugilist already has his battle confirmed with Terence Crawford on September 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
At stake will be the Mexican boxer's super middleweight titles, where the Guadalajara native has established himself as the undisputed champion. In addition, both fighters are expected to have a warm-up fight before their showdown in September.
It would be in May, a traditional date for Canelo, when the Mexican should agree to his next appearance in the ring and thus complete his 2025 to begin his arduous physical and mental preparation.
