Aribo gets high rating in key Premier League statistics

Super Eagles and Southampton midfielder, Joe Aribo has been rated as one of the most aggressive players in the English Premier League in the ongoing season

Aribo achieved a lifelong dream of playing in the Premier League when he joined Southampton from Glasgow Rangers in a deal worth over seven million euros, a transfer deal that made Aribo one of the most expensive Nigerian signing in 2022.

Aribo has participated in all of Southampton’s 15 Premier League games, making 10 appearances in the starting eleven and it is on record that in 948 minutes of action, 26-year-old Aribo scored two league goals.

In a report by top statistics company, Squawka, Aribo ranks in an impressive fourth position on the chart of Premier League players with the most possession won in the final third, making the Eagles midfield powerhouse one of the most aggressive players in the Premier League.

Only Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City (20), Leeds United’s Jack Harrison (19), and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard (18) rank higher than Aribo, with 17.

Aribo has won the ball back from the opposition in the danger areas more times than Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard (16), Chelsea’s Mason Mount (14), and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (14)
