Clubs scramble to sign new players as January transfer window closes Tuesday
The January transfer window is drawing to an end, with European sides scrambling to get last-minute deals over the line.
The window comes to a close on Tuesday, January 31 in Europe, with the German Bundesliga window being the earliest to close, shuting at 5pm, with the Italian Serie A at closing at 7pm, with the Spanish La Liga ends at 11pm while the French Ligue 1 comes to a halt at 11.59pm on January31.
Despite league’s across Europe strict on deals being made before the window, teams can still sign players after the window has closed, provided the paperwork is sent to the correct officials before 11pm, as deal sheets offer two-hour extensions to teams to get signings over the line.
Despite many clubs looking to do business on deadline day, many have already made several signings throughout the month.
So far, Graham Potter’s Chelsea have made the biggest moves in the window after signing the likes of Malo Gusto, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix.
Enzo Fernandez’s potential move to Chelsea will be the main talking point across deadline day, with Potter’s side eager to get a deal done.
Football fans in Nigeria will be anxious to see if EaglesstrikerTerem Moffi wil leave Lorient for another team while others will be keen to see if former Shakhtar Donestk forward Olarenwaju Kayode will land a major window transfer deal after leaving Turkis side Sivasspor , where he had played in the last three seasons on loan. Kayde was seen in an instagram story by his wife and football egent, Dora Kayode jetting out Nigeria, in apparent move to land a transfer move and get his football back fully back on track.
