The Defence Headquarters has quelled talks that notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji has surrendered to the Nigerian military.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, who denied the reports on Thursday while briefing journalists on the activities of the Armed Forces in Abuja said, “Simple answer to the question about terrorist leader, Bello Turji; Turji has not surrendered, we are still on the look out for him,” Kangye said.
Turji is accused of masterminding numerous attacks on communities in the North-West region.
While operating primarily in Zamfara and Sokoto states, the bandit kingpin is one of the most wanted persons by Nigerian security agencies.
